Applications for “technology competitions” within TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan will be launched and the competitions will also be open to international participation. APPLICATIONS TO TECHNOLOGY COMPETITIONS STARTED
The application deadline for participation in categories such as fixed wing, rotary wing, hybrid and flapping wing in the unmanned aerial vehicle competition open to international participation led by Turkey and Azerbaijan is January 31; The application deadline for the Model Satellite Competition, which includes the design, manufacture and launch of a small scale model of a real satellite, is open until February 2nd, 2022.
In the Green Technologies Competition, aimed at preventing the negative consequences of human activities through the use of renewable energy sources, young people using the technology of the Internet of Things will compete to develop simulation and protection solutions. In the agricultural technologies competition, which aims to increase productivity in the fruit, vegetable and livestock sectors, participants develop project solutions for the efficient use of water resources with technological solutions such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. The application deadline for energy and water efficiency awareness competitions is February 17.
The Social Technologies competition, open to local participation, competes with ideas and projects that make life easier for vulnerable groups, people with disabilities and people in rural areas. Robotics competitions powered by artificial intelligence include projects to design and build control systems for robots that can be used in industry, manufacturing, agriculture and homes. In addition to the gliding competition, in which participants perform tasks such as computer, ground or air experiments, flight programming and scientific data collection in a standard glider model, there is also the Baku Skills Competition, which tests the imagination of young people who do 3D Printers use and their ability to apply their designs with the projects they create. Participants will develop software projects with the Smart Karabakh Hackathon Competition, which will be held in the liberated lands of Azerbaijan. Applications for the competitions, in which smart solutions based on innovative technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and data analysis compete against each other, can be submitted until February 17.

TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival held for the first time in 2018 with the support of Turkey’s leading technology companies, public institutions, media organizations and universities under the direction of Turkish Technology Team Foundation and TR Ministry of Industry and Technology; By hosting many activities such as technology competitions, air shows, concerts, lectures and events on various topics, it aims to increase interest in technology in society and raise awareness of Turkey’s transformation into a national technology-producing society. Within TEKNOFEST, technology competitions are organized in different disciplines and categories so that thousands of young people can realize their dreams. While in 2018 a total of 4,333 teams and 20,000 young people applied for the technology competitions held in 14 different categories, 17,373 teams and 50,000 participants from 81 provinces and 122 countries applied for the technology competitions divided into 19 different categories in 2019. 20,197 teams and 100,000 young people from 81 provinces and 84 countries applied for the technology competitions in 21 different categories at the TEKNOFEST hosted by Gaziantep in 2020. 44,912 teams and 200,000 people from 81 provinces and 111 countries applied for the technology competitions in 35 different categories as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, which took place for the fourth time at Ataturk Airport from September 21 to 26. 2021. Among the applications for the competition, 2,200 teams and 13,000 participants competed as finalists. This year, technology competitions will be held in 39 main competitions in 97 different categories, and the winners will receive over 6 million TL in prize money and over 15 million TL in material support.
